Anglican Church ordains Canadian-based Philanthropist, Chinedu Nmezi as priest

It was a moment of joy as a Canadian-based Philanthropist and gospel Singer; Rev’d Chinedu Nmezi, including others were ordained as Canons, under the Anglican Diocese of Orlu.

   Nmezi was installed along with others during an advent Ordination service presided over by the Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Orlu, Rt. Rev’d. Benjamin Okeke, JP.

   Speaking, during the service, which held at the Cathedral church of Sts. Peter and John The Devine, Nkwerre, Tuesday, The Clerical Synod Secretary of the Diocese, Ven. Kingsley Nwosu who commended the Bishop for his love for the priests in the area, noted,  that promotions, and tremendous breakthroughs have been witnessed in the Anglican Diocese of Orlu since he assumed office as Bishop. “He has recognized the unrecognized”, Lives of those forgotten have been given meanings”, Nwosu said.

   Nwosu, who preached on the topic, “Behave Well In The House of God”, regretted, that so many believers have been living lives that do not glorify name of the Lord, and therefore charged the newly- ordained to always exhibit righteousness and avoid sins.

    He regretted,  that the Temple of God is being defiled with sexual immorality ,and acts, urging the new priests not to ridicule themselves, the church, their families and those looking up to them. “You have been chosen”, he said.

  “Many do steal what belongs to God,  and we know them. Someone like Judas lived such life, and was put to shame. So many Christians had turned themselves to betrayers, liers, gossipers, and back biters”.

  Reading the Bible from the book of 2 Timothy, 4:14. He charged  them not to block the church from moving forward, advising the newly- ordained priests to dedicate themselves to God. “We have Shadrach, Mishark and Abednego who showed that God is mighty. Do your work, behave responsibly, work hard, be committed, battle, and make sure you are not tired on the way”, he enjoined.

    He urged the newly- installed not to be ungrateful for their ordination. A clergyman should not be so timid. He should  the right things are done at the right time without being told to do so.

   Reading the Book of 1Timothy, 4: 12, Show exemplary lifestyles in your activities in the church. Focus on evangelism, purge yourselves,

  The Bishop in his exhortation, advised the celebrants to follow Christ in their day- to- day activities. “Be ready to die for him. Go and bear good fruits for the Lord”. Carry the gospel to the unreached, and we will continue to uphold you in our prayers”, he charged.

    Speaking, the celebrant; Rev. Canon Chinedu Nmezi expressed joy to have been ordained as Anglican priest under the Anglican Diocese of Orlu. “To God be the honour for day like this”.

  “I feel so excited to have witnessed a day like this I am motivated to do the work of the Lord. His work is nothing but for the humanity”, Nmezi said.

   He thanked God for the opportunity  given to him to had remained in the Lord, which he said, has led to his ordination into priesthood, and therefore prayed The Almighty to give him the strength to work.

  Also speaking, his wife, Evang. Favour Nmezi, said, she was happy that husband to have been ordained as Canon. “I will continue to support him in all ramifications”.she pledged.

     Rev’d Nmezi’s ordination has continued to generate commendations from his village; Umugara Nkwerre and other people, especially those who had benefitted from their empowerment programmes as a Philanthropist through his organization, Vivian Humanitarian Foundation, Canada.

   The ordination service attracted friends, associates, and well wishers of the celebrants from far and near, including a Traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Oliver Ohanwe (Obigburugburu of Ihim  Autonomous Community, Isiala Mbano LGA) and other prominent persons from within and outside Nkwerre.
