Bishops Visit Zone 9 Police Headquarters, laud AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu

The Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), led by its President, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, has paid a high-powered courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 9 Command Headquarters, Umuahia, AIG Kanayo V. Uzuegbu, psc(+).

Zone 9 Police Command Headquarters, Umuahia, SP. Iheanetu Bruno Chukwudera, D.Litt, ANIPR, dated 1st September, 2025, The delegation, comprising bishops and representatives from Imo, Abia, and other states across the federation, expressed gratitude to God for the elevation of a long-standing friend of the conference to such an enviable position within the Nigeria Police Force.
In their remarks, the bishops lauded AIG Uzuegbu for his humility, professionalism, and dedication to service, while appreciating the warmth and hospitality accorded to them. They further offered fervent prayers for the AIG, his family, the Zonal Command, its officers and men, and for the continued progress of the Nigeria Police Force.
Responding, AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc(+), accompanied by his wife, Lady Joy Uzuegbu, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and the prayers rendered. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to effective policing, strategic community partnership, and the sustenance of peace and security across the Zone.
The visit was graced by senior officers including the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration & Finance, DCP Uchenna Anionwo; the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, ACP Momfa; and the Chairman of the Zone 9 Police Community Relations Council, Dr. Obi.
The interaction was described as timely, reassuring, and a testament to the enduring synergy between the Church and the Nigeria Police Force in fostering national security, stability, and peace.
