24-yr-old electrician electrocuted, dies during maintenance work in hotel

A well known electrician simply identify as Bright Okon has died after he fell off from a ladder while carrying out a repair work at a well known hotel in Umuahia the state capital.

A source revealed that the incident took place on Thursday at about 12:30pm when the 24-year-old was carrying out maintenance work at the Hotel.

He was said to be at the top of the ladder when he was suddenly electrocuted. He lost balance, and landed on the ground where he sustained injury on his head.

He was rushed to the Federal Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

When contacted, Officers of Abia State Police Command confirmed the incident adding that they were contacted by the management of  the hotel while noting that they have visited the scene of the accident and  investigation has commenced.
