OACWO celebrates Mother’s Day
Mothers have been urged to always uphold virtue while caring for their families and playing significant roles to the progress, peace and development of the society and the church.
The urge was made by President of Owerri Archdiocesan Catholic Women Organization (OACWO), Dame Naomi J. Achunulo when she spoke to our reporter during the 2023 Mother’s Day Celebration held at on Sunday.
While reflecting on the theme of the celebration  “Who Is A Good Mother”, Achunulo encouraged mothers to ensure that they train their children in godly ways, as well as accord due respect to their husbands who she described as pillars of the house.
The President who is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish Church Redemption Estate, Obinze, Owerri West LGA, outlined that it was needful as they joined other Catholics across the World to celebrate Mother’s Day in Owerri Ecclesiastical Province.
Achunulo highlighted that Mothering Sunday is a day set aside to celebrate mothers as model of Virgin Mary who are always expected to have virtue – of patience, tolerance, love, caring and godliness.
She however thanked Archbishop of Owerri Diocese, Lucius Ugorji, Parish Priest of St Paul’s Church, Douglas Owerri, Rev. Fr. Charles Ukwuegbu, Resident Priest, Sacred Heart Church, Redemption Estate, Obinze, Rev. Fr. Chukwuemeka Ihieme, his Assistant and the entre CWO of the Parish for their support and encouragement.
