ALVAN IKOKU FED UNIVERSITY MATRICULATES OVER 1,300 STUDENTS

The Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, yesterday, March, 22, 2024, held its 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony for National Certificate of Education (NCE), Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PDE) and others. In her address, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. (Mrs) Stella Lemchi, described the ceremony as historical, saying it will be the last time the institution will matriculate students in affliction with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. “For over forty years, our institution had collaborated with the UNN to admit and produced graduates”. While congratulating the fresh students who have been admitted into the University, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration described it as a testament of their hardwork, dedication and commitment. “Our institution is known for providing quality education, competent graduates and contributing to the development of our nation”. She further admonished them to be open-minded, respectful and tolerant to others, urging them to conduct themselves with highest standards of integrity “We have massively renovated Male and female hostels in our school. We also remodelled the rooms attract natural air. In his matriculation address, the Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who was represented by Prof. Joachim Omeje, Dean, Faculty of Education, congratulated ALVAN and assured them of continued cooperation. While congratulating the students, The Vice Chancellor remind them that their success is important to their families, UNN and ALVAN. “You have the opportunity to determine your direction. You can make or mar your direction.” He therefore enjoined them to be good ambassadors of where they came from and reminded ths.
