Reactions As Tinubu Approves N4billion For IMSU, Other  17  Varsities

Reactions have continued to trail the approval of One Hundred and Ten Bellion (#110b) by president Bola Tinubu to be shared 4blliion each by the Imo State University, IMSU and other 17 universities.
According to the release, “Each university will receive about N4 billion, including N750 million for hostel construction, to support eight simulation labs across the zones and increase enrolment in medical sciences”.

The 18 universities benefiting from the N110bn grant are: Nnamdi Azikiwe University,  Bayelsa Medical University., University of Lagos,  Ahmadu Bello University, University of Benin, Imo State University, University of Ibadan
, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo
, Benue State University, Umaru Musa Yaradua University, University of Nigeria,  University of Calabar, . Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, University of Jos, University of Ilorin,  Gombe State University,  Usmanu Danfodio University and University of Maiduguri .

“This initiative is designed to improve infrastructure in medical schools through the rehabilitation of lecture theatres and laboratory facilities, thereby enhancing capacity to take in and produce more doctors, nurses, dentists, and pharmacists for the nation”

  A cross section of Nigerians have wondered why only 18 higher institutions could benefit from the largesse.
