‎Abakuru Community Presents Eze Elect, Uzoma Nwaneshi To Ohaji Egbema LGA Boss For Recognition.

‎It was jubilation in Abakuru community in Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo state on Tuesday 12 may 2026 as men, women and youths of the area trooped en mass with Chief Emmanuel Uzoma Nwaneshi to Mahu the local government headquarters to formally present him as their Eze Elect.
‎ Recall that Chief Uzoma Nwaneshi was used by his community to replace the Late Eze Elect Ichie Hyacinth Nwaneshi after a consensus agreement which was signed into law by the Abakuru town Union on the 26th October 2025. It is worthy also to note that the Ezeship position was ceded to Umuadi village where Chief Uzoma Nwaneshi come from by the entire community.
‎ Addressing the mammoth crowd at the Ohaji Egbema council hall, the spokesperson of Abakuru community Engr. Paul Kelechi Amucha said they have come to formally present their Eze Elect Chief Emmanuel Uzoma Nwaneshi to the executive chairman of the council, his management and legislative team for recognition. He added that selection of Uzoma Nwaneshi was a general consensus agreement of the entire Abakuru community because of his honesty, transparency and contributions to the community maintaining that he will carry everybody along.
‎ Responding, the executive chairman of Ohaji Egbema LGA Hon Prince Marcel Amadioha who was the represented by the leader of the legislative house and The councilor for obitti Mgbuishi ward Rt. Hon Onuoha Joel Onuoha thanked Abakuru community for peaceful and for coming to present their Eze Elect to the council. “on behalf of the council chairman, we have received you for recognition having fulfilled all the conditions”.
‎ The leader who was flanked by the councilor for Ekwuato ward Hon Dr Grill Ogbonna and the director of administration and general services urged Abakuru people to give the Eze Elect support, pray for him to ensure that unity and Peace reign in the community.
‎ Appreciating the local government management and Abakuru community, the Eze Elect Chief Emmanuel Uzoma Nwaneshi JP Akuru 1 of Abakuru community thanked the executive chairman, the vice chairman, The councilors and other officials for their warm reception: ” To my traditional rulers, Chiefs, Nze, Titled men, Elders, women and youths of Abakuru autonomous community, I thank you deeply for the confidence and trust you have placed in me to serve our people. I promise to uphold the dignity, customs, traditions, and unity of our land with sincerity and fear of God. As Eze Elect, my vision is to promote peace, unity, cultural values, youth empowerment, education, security and development within our community. I shall work together with government authorities, community stakeholders, and our sons and daughters both home and abroad To move Abakuru community forward. I call upon youths to remain peaceful, law abiding, hardworking and focused. Violence and division cannot build a community, but peace and unity will bring progress and blessing. To our women, your prayers, support and contributions to community development remain invaluable. To our elders, we shall continue to secure wisdom and guidance in all matters affecting our people. May this presentation today strengthen the bond of unity between the government and traditional institutions in Ohaji Egbema LGA. Together, we shall build stronger communities for the benefit of our people and generations yet unborn. Once again, I think the executive chairman and the entire leadership of Ohaji Egbema LGA for his honor and recognition”.
‎ Reacting after the event, the oldest man in Abakuru Oha Hyginus Igbokwe congratulated the Eze elect for his successful presentation to the council and advised Abakuru people to throw their weight behind him. “No more struggle for Ezeship. It has come and gone and today Uzoma Nwaneshi is our Eze Elect. My prayers is for God to give the Eze Elect the wisdom and good health to rule over us”.
‎ Our correspondent reports that Chief Hyacinth Amadi, Oha Hyginus Igbokwe (the oldest man in Abakuru), Mr Christian Obichere, Theodus Oke, Chief Justice Ibe Nwaneshi, Mr Uwakwe Nwaneshi, Mrs Chioma Lydia Nwaneshi, Mrs Chioma Prisca Nwaneshi, Mrs Queen Ononogbo, Mrs Roseanna Uzoma, Mrs Ndidi Ibe, Mrs Gloria Onukaogu among others accompanied the Eze Elect and wife to the event.
